The Tuan Chau – Cat Ba Ferry route, operated by Au Lac Quang Ninh Co., Ltd under Tuan Chau Group, has been in service since 2009. This is a crucial and the fastest waterway connection between the coastal cities of Ha Long and Hai Phong.

The ferry operates between 5 to 7 trips daily, with each journey taking approximately 45 minutes, traveling at a speed of 7-8 knots (nautical miles per hour). The ferry meets all safety and management standards to ensure a secure trip for passengers. Additionally, more trips can be arranged based on customer demand.

From October 1 to April 15:

• Tuan Chau to Cat Ba: 7:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 3:00 PM
• Cat Ba to Tuan Chau: 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM

From April 16 to September 30:

• Tuan Chau to Cat Ba: 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM
• Cat Ba to Tuan Chau: 9:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM

Each ferry trip lasts about 50 minutes and departs only when there are at least 30 passengers.
